Hollingdean Waste Transfer Station - Brighton

Miller Bourne were appointed as Executive Architects for new waste recycling and transfer facilities on a former abattoir site adjacent to an existing municipal waste depot. The facilities have the capacity to manage up to 160,000 tonnes of waste per year and comprise 3 main buildings, including a materials recovery facility (MRF) for separated recyclable material from kerbside collections, recycling points and household waste recycling sites; a waste transfer station (WTS) for general household waste from collection rounds; and a Visitor’s Centre and office building.
