Over the years the Crew Club in Brighton has provided essential support, education, entertainment and a sense of community to countless young people in the Whitehawk area, and as a result has gone from strength to strength.
Miller Bourne were commissioned to design new premises for the club, which is located at the foot of a nature reserve. The new building was designed to respect the surrounding environment by incorporating a flourishing, extensive green roof. The shape of the roof complements the existing landscape by rolling gently up towards Whitehawk Hill, acknowledging the natural topography of the area. Under this grass roof is a large multi-function hall, ICT suite, classroom, kitchen, offices, music studio, and ancillary accommodation.
