Set in 1100 acres of Sussex countryside, the original site comprised a prestigious and landmark golf clubhouse and two Championship golf courses which were opened for play in 1990. Miller Bourne was appointed by the new owners to develop a design concept for a hotel, leisure complex and conference centre. Exploiting the natural topography of the site, the hotel sits on a curved ridge and all the 104 bedrooms built on three levels face south looking towards the magnificent South Downs. The conference centre facilities include the self contained National Suite and the Lynx Roundall which is a circular function suite with five individual conference rooms to suit up to 300 delegates. The building was designed in traditional Sussex materials to reflect the character and features of the original golf club and harmonise with the landscape setting. Planning Consent for the development was achieved in 2005.
