CATERHAM
SCHOOL
The Governors of Caterham School appointed Miller Bourne
in 2003 to prepare a masterplan for the complete school site. Due regard was requested of its many historical buildings and the natural landscape value of the Metropolitan Green Belt within which the school is located.
The first phase of work was completed in January 2007, providing a new Science centre to house the Chemistry, Biology and Physics departments, over a new dining hall and kitchen complex.
This work was closely followed by the construction of a new Sixth Form centre, health centre, workshop and staff accommodation building built on the site of the old kitchens.
In addition a new girl’s boarding block has been built and future phases of work include the design and provision of new staff housing and alterations to the Art school.
