ASHFORD SCHOOL

Miller Bourne were initially appointed by United Church Schools Trust to design and administer the contract to renovate, refurbish and extend a pair of Listed Georgian buildings, which were successfully brought back into use as boarding accommodation.

Our next appointment was to produce a masterplan for combining Ashford School with a local preparatory school, The Friars. Masterplans for both sites were produced, showing how the senior school could change to a co-educational establishment, with new classrooms, specialist art, design technology and science buildings, and comprehensive new sports facilities.

The first phase of the masterplan, the refurbishment of two existing buildings to form a learning resource centre and a café/social space, has been completed, and the next phase is to be a new sports hall.
